Established in 2001, the Laboratory (Center) of Cellular and Molecular Biology of College of Basic Medical Sciences has been an important component of the undergraduate experiment teaching platform for preclinical sciences in Central South University. It has been graded as a model laboratory for higher education and is one of the earliest certifiedBSL-II laboratories in Hunan province.

The faculty of our lab (center) is composed from three different units of theCollege of Basic Medical Sciences: Department of Immunology; Department of Microbiology; and Department of Human Parasitology. Up to 70,000 experiment teaching hours are fulfilled annually here.

Currently,our lab (center) occupies an area ofapproximately1500 m²with nearly 1100 instruments and equipments, among which areFlow cytometer, Microplate reader, Biosafety cabinets, cryogenic incubator and scanDrop 100,fostering a unique and pleasant environment for students.

Our lab (center) has 5 full-time technicians. Our director is Professor Wei Tian, Ph.D.
