Forensic medicine（法醫(yī)學）: Forensic medicine is a science that applies the theories and methods of medicine and other natural sciences to study and solve medical problems involved in investigation and trial practice. In 1920, Xiang ya Medical College opened a forensic course called "Referee Medicine". In 1951, it established the forensic medicine teaching and research section. In 2002, it was renamed the Department of Forensic Medicine, Central South University School of Basic Medical Sciences. The team of young and middle-aged teachers in the Department of Forensic Medicine of Central South University has the advantages of high quality, high education, and strong scientific research capabilities. The three general hospitals of Central South University have forensic clinics, which have good practice and internship conditions for forensic undergraduates. Biomedical Engineering（生物醫(yī)學工程）: Biomedical Engineering was awarded the right to confer a master's degree in 1986 and a doctorate degree in 2003. It is now a key discipline in Hunan Province.
