The Department of Medical Immunology, the School of Basic Medicine of Central South University, was established in 1998. It was merged by the Immunology ResearchLaboratory, Department of immunology andthe Clinical Microbiology and Immunology Departmentfrom previous Human Medical University. The duty of Department of Immunology includes theteaching of medical students and engaged in the scientific research of immunology.Currently the head of the department is Professor Zou Yizhou,mentor ofdoctoral; there are 10 staff, including 4professors, 4associate professors, 2instructors.7 teachers have experience studying overseas, 1 doctoral supervisor and 4 postgraduate supervisor.Due are:

Scientific research:After more than 40 years of development,The research base has been established for the study onimmunology. The discipline of medical immunology led by the School of Basic Medicine of Central South University entered the top 1% of ESIin the worldin 2017, recruiting full-time doctors, masters and international students in immunology.Maininterestingresearchesfocus ontheimmunetolerance (transplantation immunity),anti-infection immunity, tumor immunology, autoimmunity and immunogenetics;We have granted with7 national research projects(3.745 million yuan), 6 provincial research projects(930,000 yuan), 5 other projects(3.6 million);We have published47 SCI papersas the first or corresponding authors,and2 Nature and Nature Medicine papersascoauthorsin international cooperation.
